Best way to keep bait on the hook. The 4 inch wraps work very well using whole fish such as Scad, Herring, Smelt, medium Sardines. It is recommend the whole fish is inserted head first leaving the tail section exposed. If using with prepared baits or baits such as Chicken Liver for larger game-fish the best hook for this application is the Octopus Beak off-set hook size 6/0. See our store for purchase. The Fishing Wrap is for moderately large baits up to 4 x 1 1/4 inches. The wrap can be downsized to fit smaller bait applications by trimming the length. If filling the wrap to capacity with bait recommend a double hook application, Type 1 is hexagonal shaped mesh approximately 3 mm in size. The fabric is made of nylon and sewn with synthetic thread. This forms a durable wrap. This wrap is very good for larger baits typically fished in the surf, rivers, lakes, bays, seas for Catfish, Snapper, Grouper, Striped Bass, Red/Black Drum, Sturgeon, Tuna and other large game-fish. This size wrap works exceptionally well for Sturgeon filled with salmon eggs. See our "Testimonial Section" for pics of sturgeon caught and bait application. In this application the purpose of the wrap is to keep the bait intact until the fish strikes. Each Wrap is made by hand individually. There is no automation. Due to this, there made be slight variations in size.
